Grit

In this book, author Angela Duckworth shows that the secret to outstanding achievements is not talent, but a special blend of passion and persistence she calls “grit”. Grit in psychology is a positive, non-cognitive trait based on an individual passion for a particular long term goal or end state, coupled with a powerful motivation to achieve their respective objective.

Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her research, she explains why talent is hardly a guarantor for success.

Grit is a book about what goes through your head when you fall down, and how that – not talent or luck – makes all the difference.

The full title of the book is “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance”. Published by Scribner (May 2016).
