The Righteous Mind

After twenty-five years of researching about moral psychology, Jonathan Haidt (social psychologist) shows how moral judgements arise not from reason but from gut feelings.

In this book, the author challenges conventional thinking about morality, politics, and religion in a way that speaks to everyone on the political spectrum. Haidt attempts to reach common ground between liberals and conservatives. He argues that people are too quick to denigrate other point of views without giving those views full consideration. He also acknowledges that while he has been a liberal all his life, he is now more open to other point of views.

The full title of the book is “The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion”. Published by Penguin (May 2013).
