  • Religion: educating religion is an important substance in the private schools, which creates a critical difference in public atmosphere of education between one school and another, according to the difference of religious and sectarian character of each institution, which nurtures the danger in increasing sectarian divisions in the country because of the educational system that founded and still founding the difference among citizens.
  • Parrot system in education: which limits the ability of thinking and analyzing and forms an additional lamb on student’s minds.
  • Private lessons: on this level, we ask about the reason for the need for these lessons, whether it is the lack of efficiency in the ranks of teachers in schools? Or is it the number of students per class? Or is it “padding” the amount that is given to the student?
  • Education hours: that range between 6 to 9 hours per day, 5 days a week, and 10 months in a year, where the student comes back from school loaded with a huge amount of homework…pushing students to extreme tiredness and unhealthy ways to escape!
  • Guidance and specialization: lack of guidance and sorting students regarding their marks and their ability to memorize by heart, despite of their areas of interests.
  • Technology: Lack of technology in most public schools, which makes courses very boring and sometimes unclear enough to be understood.
  • Social media: that influences negatively the students’ productivity, where they became dragged in the stream of neglecting their courses and homework, also the sarcastic posts about treating the teachers and not respecting them…in addition to sharing cheating methods, unfortunately.
  • Verbal taunting: which affects the psychology of children and leads them to react negatively to their lectures, to hate their teachers and disrespect them in return…

Although the problem of educational inequality has been around for a long time, there are still measures we can take as a community and as a society to fix the problems in the Lebanese educational system. In order to fix the root cause of this problem, all the mentioned issues must be addressed early on in a child’s education. We as a community must change our mindset and actually advocate and work together for a better educational system.

It is only by changing the way our education system functions that we can create a better system more suited to improving the learning conditions among everyone equally, and then we can fulfil our main  statement, “YES, EDUCATION IS A SOLUTION! “
